CX Charger TOP 3 FAQs
CX Charger TOP 3 FAQs
Lately we received many inquires asking questions of our CX series Advance Battery charger, here are the top 3 questions:
1. What is the Battery rescue function used for?
When your battery is over discharged (when battery voltage is below 10V) Cotek CX charger will detect the low battery voltage and reduce the charging current. This will prevent damage and extend your batteries lifespan. Cotek’s CX series can reactivate a dead battery and rescue your battery back to normal.
2. When should I use the Extra Second Battery (ESB) output function?
When your engine battery is dead or over discharged and your vehicle won’t start, the CX series can charge your secondary battery and your engine battery at the same time. The ESB function can provide a 13.8V/2A charging rate to recover the battery capacity while charging over night. You can enjoy resting in your RV without worrying about a dead battery.
3. Can I charge multi battery at the same time and will it damage my battery?
If you connect the batteries with different status (ex. capacity, aging…) in parallel at the same time, you might have a battery over charged or a battery not fully charged. The CX series has 2 or 3 charging ports distributing the currents equally to protect your batteries and making sure your batteries are fully charged. ( It is highly recommend to have the batteries in the same temperature environment.)
In order to for optimizing the balanced loading and charging, Please use:
- The same age and type of battery in any array
- The recommended cable sizes
- Bus bars with the same size/length cable between the batteries
- Make the connections as short as possible.
